There is a place called Frye Island in Maine. Its city population was one from 1990 to 1999, which means that there was only one person living there for ten years. I was so curious about this place and its lonely resident, so I googled it. It turns out that this place is not a "city". Instead, it's a tiny island that is 1.6 square miles. The following figure shows you what it looks like. Now I am wondering how the population has grown after 1999. (Figure 3 tells you it's 5 in 2014.) My second question is how many cities have populations under ten or one hundred? I am planning to write a column called Some Fun Facts from Many Boring Data Collections.
